# API overview

> Manage members and export pull request analytics through the cubic REST APIs.

Use the cubic REST APIs to manage member seats and roles or export pull request analytics to your
own tools. Both APIs use `https://www.cubic.dev` as the base URL.

| API | Personal key | What you can do |
| - | - | - |
| [Members](/account/members-api) | `cbk_` | List organizations and members, read a member, and update seats and roles. |
| [Analytics](/analytics/api) | `cak_` | Export merged pull requests with completed cubic reviews, issue counts, and AI authorship data. |

## Authentication and access

Generate the key for the API you want to use in
[Settings > Integrations > cubic API](https://www.cubic.dev/settings?tab=integrations\&integration=api).
Send it in the `Authorization` header as a bearer token. Members and Analytics keys are separate
and cannot be used interchangeably.

Keys are personal and requests use the key owner's organization access. Reading Members data
uses your existing permissions. Updating a member needs an organization admin and an active
Team or Pro subscription billed through cubic. Analytics access requires Pro.

See the [Members guide](/account/members-api) or [Analytics guide](/analytics/api) for key setup,
pagination, and access requirements. Each endpoint page includes an authenticated request
playground, response schemas, and code examples.

## Other integrations

To use cubic from an IDE or coding agent, see the [MCP server](/ide/mcp-server) and
[CLI review](/ide/cli-review) guides.
